The key to transformation:
I. You can change to make your life what you want it to be.
A. Whatever your present place in life, you have the potential to move forward, and experience more of God's
will and plan.
B. Learn to practice God's principles and truths.
C. Most everyone desires to change their lives, but they don't know how, and feel unable.
D. The fact is you Call change because God has a plan for you. He has predestined you for greatness spiritually,
mentally, physically, and financially. Your marriage, family, career, and self-esteem can and should be exciting and fulfilling.
Scripture references: Romans 12:2; Phil. 3:10; Eph.I:11 & 2: I-10
II. The new changes my
spirit, but not my mind or physical body.
A. Being born again is the beginning, unfortunately, for many Christians, it is also the end when it comes
to growing with God.
B. To be born again takes a commitment to Jesus as Lord, and there is all instant change in your spirit.
C. To grow spiritually is an on-going process of renewing your mind to the Word of God.
Scripture references: 2 Corinthians 5:17; John 13:3-6 ; Eph. 2:8-9 ;I Corinthians 1:18 & James 1.:21
III. Renewing the mind is a lifestyle,
not an experience.
A. To be TRANSFORMED is to go through a complete change in form or kind. The Greek word used in this verse
is "metamorpho."
B. If we ever want to see tile good, acceptable, and perfect will of God in our lives, we must get on with
tile renewing process.
C. Renewing the mind is much more than going through religious motions. It is a conscious effort and
labor to:
- 1. Become aware of how we really think and believe.
- 2. Become aware of how God wants us to think
3. Focus our thoughts on God's thoughts
- 4. Practice the thoughts of God until they are our own
- 5. Live the thoughts of God with our actions in everyday life.
This process then must be repeated time and time again as we come into situations where attitudes and thoughts
arise that are contrary to the Word of God. It cannot be received by the laying on of hands, but by a life style that we,
follow until we meet the Lord or His return.
