RENEWING THE MIND Part 2

THE KEYS TO TRANSFORMATION:

IV. Change is the way of Life.

A. Proverbs 6:23. Reproofs of instruction are the way of life. Reproofs, corrections, instruction, or confrontation from the Word of God are designed to bring change to our lives.

B. Ephesians 4:22-24 That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in righteousness and true holiness.

C. Philippians 4:8: Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there there is any virtue and if there is anything praise worthy meditate on these things.

V. Change must be a positive part of our lives, not something to be avoided.

A. Numbers 13:33 ........... we were like grasshoppers in there sight. The people of Israel had not

Changed their way of thinking from their slavery mentality. Thought God was with them,

called them His people, find promised to take them into the promised land, they would not

accept it. Their Un renewed minds kept them from the promises of God. They did not want to change. Their minds were focused on going back to the old life, not pressing on to the new one.

B. John 10:10; The thief does not come except to steal and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

VI: Abundant life has been provided, but you must possess it. It will not fall on you like rain from the sky. If you are not willing to change, renew your mind, and go for it, you may live your whole life without all that God has provided for you.

A. III. John 2. Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. John realized that the prosperity of your whole life, as well as the health of our bodies, lunged on the condition of our soul.

B. So many Christians wonder about God's will when it comes to prosperity and health. It obvious that the Apostle John would not pray a prayer that was contrary to the will of God.

C. The key to this passage is the soul. The mind, emotions, and will.

  • Your mind-- reasoning and thinking processes
  • Your emotions-feelings
  • Your will-deciding and choosing processes.

These things make up the soul, and control, to a great degree, how you experience life. You will prosper and live in health even as your soul prospers, or you will struggle, and be weak, even as your soul is weak

Hosea 4:6; Thessalonians 5:23; Corinthians 6:17 Hebrews 4:12 The Word of God is the final authority in all the issues of life.
